Expedited New Adult Passport

This process is for first-time applicants 16 or older who have never been issued a U.S. passport, or have a passport that was issued before the applicant's 16th birthday and need one quickly. It is also used for applicants who have a passport that was issued more than 15 years ago.

ONE of the following must be true:

  • You are applying for your first U.S. passport.
  • You are 16 or older and your previous U.S. passport was issued when you were under age 16.
  • Your previous U.S. passport was issued more than 15 years ago.

Expedited Passport Renewal

This process is for applicants whose passports are expiring or have expired in the last 5 years and would like to apply for a passport renewal in a hurry. This process may also be used by applicants who are low on blank passport pages, as well as those who have legally changed their name. Your passport must be in your possession, not damaged, and issued when you were 16 or older.

Your passport meets ALL of the following:

  • Is not damaged and can be submitted with your application.
  • Was issued when you were age 16 or older.
  • Was issued within the last 15 years.
  • Was issued in your current name or you can legally document your name change.

Expedited Child Passport

This process is for children under the age of 16. This includes minors who have never been issued a U.S. passport, or are age 15 or younger and have previously been issued a U.S. passport that is expiring, expired, or lost.

  • The child is under 16 years of age.
  • BOTH parents must appear with child at a local acceptance agent.
  • If one of the parents or legal guardians cannot be present at the acceptance agent, then Form DS-3053 (Minor Consent Form) must be NOTARIZED.

Expedited Lost Passport Replacement

This process is for applicants who need to replace a lost passport that was issued when they were age 16 or older. This process applies whether the lost passport was valid, expired, or cancelled.

  • Your previous U.S. passport was lost.
  • You must complete both the DS-11 and DS-64 (Statement Regarding Lost or Stolen Passport) forms.

Expedited Damaged Passport Replacement

This process applies to applicants who need to replace a passport that has been damaged or is in very poor condition. This process is necessary if your passport has severe water damage; a loose, torn or detached cover; torn or missing pages; unauthorized markings; or holes in the cover or any pages. Damaged passports are not valid for travel and must be replaced.

  • You must complete the DS-11 and the Statement Regarding Damaged Passport if your passport has been damaged but still is in your possession.

Expedited Stolen Passport Replacement

This process is for applicants who need to replace a stolen passport that was issued when they were 16 or older. It is used even if the stolen passport was expired. You do not need to file a police report to begin this process.

  • You must complete both the DS-11 and DS-64 (Statement Regarding Lost or Stolen Passport) forms.

Expedited Name Change

This process is for applicants whose passport was issued less than one year ago and have had a legal name change since the passport was issued. It is also used if identifying information was printed incorrectly on the passport. Please note that if the passport was issued more than one year ago, the Passport Renewal procedure will apply.

  • If your passport was issued less than one year ago, use form DS-5504.
  • If your passport was issued more than one year ago, use form DS-82.

Expedited Second Valid Passport

A second valid passport is for frequent travelers who need to obtain visas while traveling abroad or to assist with travel between politically sensitive countries. Please review our requirements document for specifics on eligibility. This service is used for both first-time applications for second valid passports and for renewals.
